After a year of pause and renovations, the Planetarium Stuttgart opened again. Despite of that fact, they did not fully exploit the potential of their premises, so I decided to develop an exhibition concept to create an extra incentive for visitors.
The idea: creating an experience for several senses by using the space to show the distances between sun and planets in our solar system. The domed hall in the middle of the building stands for the sun while the planets are installed around it. Visitors can walk through the room and read about the planets' characteristics.
Interviewing the director gave me insight into visitors' needs and the processes during a work day in the Planetarium. For a better imagination of the exhibition content, I created a 3D model with the programme Cinema4D.
In addition, I redesigned posters for the regular shows, using impressive images that speak for themselves and only the most important information as texts.
